Anodized Track Bars, Stems, Sugino 75s, MKS Toe Clips

If you want track components in anodized colors, send me an email with your contact info. No promises, but one of the shop suppliers, has ordered a bunch of anodized track bike components. I talked with them today. At Interbike the word will get out to those without computers. Then you will be living your life on backorder.

It looks like the cost is about 5-to7% more than usual price for the cost of the anodization. What is 7% when you can pick between something  other than silver and silver. Oh, sorry, and black. The colors available for most of the components are red, blue, purple, gold, and black. Not all components will come in all colors. For example, alloy MKS toe clips are going to be available in blue or gold.  Both the Sugino 75 cranks and the chainring are anodized.

Of course, everything is fashion. But 20 years from now, some kid young enough to be your son or daughter will be looking for your crankset on ebay for his or her retro fixie. So make sure to take a picture of you sitting on your bike next to the gas stations priceboard for gasoline. Get wallet sized photos made for your eventual spawn or that of a family member, so they can ask you why you didn't buy truckloads of gas when it was only $3.60 a gallon.

Some purple Sugino 75s might make for a swanky upgrade to your ride. But get on the list. They will probably sell out pretty quickly, since the last blue crank I saw was a Campy BMX crank, and we know why Campy doesn't make them anymore.

(I have no idea of the actual colors, but I'll take a photo when they arrive at the shop.)
